A fun little twist of fate: my best friend in primary school was Tyla, and I love that life brought them together. It truly feels like a match made in heaven."

THEIR LOVE STORY

Their story didn’t begin with a big, dramatic moment—it started quietly, long before they even realised what was unfolding.

Tyla and David went to school together for a few years, crossing paths often but never really speaking. Occasionally, David would ask Tyla for snacks in class (looking back now, this might have been his best move). At the time, they were just two people in the same space, with no idea that something bigger was waiting for them.

Everything changed at a mutual friend’s party (thanks, Andrew). For the first time, they really connected—one conversation turned into another, and before they knew it, they shared their first kiss. From that moment on, something just clicked, and it was clear that this was the beginning of something special.

A few weeks later, David planned the most thoughtful surprise—a candlelit dinner under the stars—and asked Tyla to be his girlfriend. It was simple, romantic, and perfectly “them”… and of course, she said yes.

Since then, their relationship has been filled with laughter, endless conversations, and a genuine love for just being together. They’ve realised that what they enjoy most isn’t big adventures, but the everyday moments they share.

Their love has also been tested in ways they never expected. For four years, they’ve navigated a long-distance relationship, learning patience and how to stay close, even when they were far apart. It wasn’t always easy, but it made them stronger, and it showed them just how much they were willing to fight for each other.

What they have is truly God-sent. Over the past seven years, they’ve grown together, supported each other, and built a love that feels steady, joyful, and real.

And now, as they look ahead to the future, they’re still choosing each other every day—grateful for where they started, proud of how far they’ve come, and so excited for everything still to come.
